It rained today! Video added

And I was like...BRING IT ON!!!!!! Jen and I went to the store to get some water, juice and stuff and I heard this chic who had long freshly done either press and curl or perm and curled hair going on to another sistah about how she was not trying to go outside and get her hair wet (cause she just got her hair done)! I know it was none of my business, but Jen had headed on down the water aisle and I couldn't help but to "interject" my sentiments about the rain! I turned around to the young lady and said, "I love the rain and my hair loves to get wet!" OK, I know that was down right uncalled for, but I guess I couldn't help it! I went on to say (as if I didn't already say enough) while pointing at her hair, "I don't miss that!" Now ya'll know by this time she was looking at me like, "Lady if you and yo nappy hair don't get away from me!" I flung my hair around and got out of their business. But, I just had to reiterate that it rained today and I love my hair!!!!!!

I feel you with the rain. It`s so liberating not to have to worry about getting your hair wet.

I feel you for sure. It's so liberating to not have to worry about the rain the way we use to. Rain, wind, snow, humidity - bring it.

LOL....you go girl! LMAO....speak what you feel! I wish I could have been there, getting my laugh on! Besides, it wasnt as much about dissing her hair, as it was expressing the LOVE of your hair!

Hey ladies,

I guess we all needed a laugh today!!! Thanks for checkin' in! I need to stop!!!! I added a video I put together while I still had my waves and crinkles. Yes, rain "does" take locked styles away, too. Especially since I didn't use any setting lotion when I did my braid out on Saturday. Pictures from Saturday's Meet and Greet with Dr. Jo are already up in my MJS Productions fotki album. Check it out if you have time. Take care!!!!

I loved the photos and the music was interesting and definately different. Thanks for sharing.

I first got over my hair and rain issue when I went to Jamaica twice. Everyday at 4:00 pm there was a light rain. I embraced the warm rain fully and freely. I had on swim gear and I was wearing my braids at the time. I even went snorkling with my limited swimming skill set. But the feeling of freedom never left me and even when I returned to the US, I don't use an umbrella. All it is anyway, is Liquid Sunshine. This makes me really look forward to getting my Sisterlocks.

I enjoyed meeting you at the Dr. Cornwell event last Sat. You take photos very well, see the two photos I took of you. They came out great.

Maryee, Your braid out is so cute! I got such a kick out of your slide show to music!! What fun you always have documenting your hair journal! Love it! I probably wouldn't have been brave enough to speak to the lady in the store about the hair in the rain thing, but I SURE would have been thinking just what you said!! LOL!! ;-)))

Ja Stu,

I see you are all set with your new Sisterlocks and blog! Congrats! Hopefully you'll get a Mother's Day gift (wink).

RJQ,

I'd love to go to Jamaica, but if it's as tropical as Puerto Rico, I know I'd love it. I'm excited to go swimming this summer and get my hair wet whenever I want to.

RJQ,

I forgot to tell you thank you for helping me out with the video and camera at the meet and greet. Not sure when the videos will be up, but hopefully soon! So nice meeting you as well and I am wishing you all the best in your upcoming journey!!

Aundrea,

Girl, thanks! I need to be on the look out for that lady (she works at the store). I'm sure she's had time to think about what I said and either she was convicted (of living the lye) or enraged! Hope it was the first.

Brunsli,

Thanks for dropping by. I know I was bad. Lord help me! :-) LOL
